「Statement]
This group exhibition unveils the works of four female artists living in
the intricate tapestry of Japanese society through the eye of their foreign
kaleidoscope. In defiance of becoming consumed and molded by their
ever-evolving surroundings, the artists have coined the term “Harsh touch”.
The term represents their resilience and determination to not succumb to
the external social pressures of life in Japan. Each artist plays with
their own personal discords of embracing their heritage, whilst still
nurturing their own unique identities, exploring the challenge of being a
young artist navigating a foreign world.

このグループ展は、外国にルーツを持ち日本の複雑な社会に生きる4人の女性アーティストの作品を、彼女たちの異国の万華鏡の目を通して紹介するものである。
目まぐるしく変わり続ける時代の波に飲み込まれながらも、型にはめられることに抗い、彼女たちは「Harshtouch」という言葉を生み出した。この言葉は、日本での生活で受ける社会的圧力に屈しないという、彼女たちの決意としなやかさを表している。
各アーティストは、自分たちの伝統を受け入れ独自のアイデンティティを育むと同時に、異国の世界を探索する若いアーティストとしての挑戦を続けながら、自身の内的世界で響き渡る不協和音と戯れている。
